We make Golden Bear Cottages our only place to stay in Big Bear Lake. My family has stayed at Golden Bear Cottages at least eleven times over the last decade. We have stayed for summer week-long vacations, weekend getaways and holidays. They have a great heated pool and outdoor spa. The family friendly recreation area has everything to do for a family or group of people. We have stayed in little cabins and once we even stayed in the seven bedroon retreat cabin during a family reunion. All the cabins are clean and the maids come everyday. We reccommend it highly. We say it is the top place for families to stay in Big Bear Lake. This place is run by a really nice family that treats you right!

My family and I reserved a large cabin for Thanksgiving. Golden Bear Cottages charged our credit card for the deposit when we made the reservation. Months later when we stayed and they charged our credit card the other 1/2 of the bill. Once home, we did not have a chance to go over our credit card statement since it was around the Holidays and we had many visitors from out of town. Later we found they charged us a third time (HUNDREDS OF DOLLORS over what they should have.) I contacted the office and faxed copies of credit cards statements their Office Manager but she is not returning calls and HAS NOT REFUNDED OUR MONEY. Although she could see THEY OVERCHARGED us, she said we should have contacted them sooner. Since then, we have found MANY other individuals posting reviews that had their DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS OVER CHARGED! Seems they have a habit of this! I would NOT RECOMMAND staying here! There are MANY other very nice places in Big Bear – DON"T THROOUGH AWAY YOUR MONEY!
